Blue Light Press – Poems from the Redwoods: North Bay Poets and Friends of the Trees – Deadline: January 1, 2027
Blue Light Press is gathering poems for an anthology called Poems from the Redwoods: North Bay Poets and Friends of the Trees. Poems can celebrate redwood trees, all trees, nature in the SF North Bay region, or whatever you feel might be appropriate for the book. What you love about the natural world. I feel that redwood trees are sacred. Our book will be a prayer for our planet to survive. Submission is open to all SF Bay Area poets and all friends of the trees from other places.
Here are the guidelines:
- Send 1 to 5 poems for consideration.
- No budget for permissions: Send poems that are unpublished or poems you can give me the right to publish. Publishing these poems elsewhere is fine, as long as you acknowledge that the poems were previously published inPoems from the Redwoods.
- Send a 50 to 100 paragraph bio – short, sweet, informative & fun to read.
- You can send poems by email in MSWord or copy them within the body of an email. (No pdf submissions because the line breaks don’t copy into the software we use.)
- Please send your poems by or before 1-1-2027
- You’re welcome to share this with other poets you feel are appropriate for this book.
The front and back covers will have photographs by Jeffrey Bartfeld, whose work reminds me of Ansel Adams.
If your poem(s) are accepted, I will need a signed and dated statement that says:
[Your name] gives Blue Light Press permission to publish [give poem title(s)] in Poems from the Redwoods. No other permissions are required. (You can send this by email).
